The promenade in Zielona Góra was very colorful today and the passers-by could feel the holiday atmosphere thanks to the Relaxation Zone with deckchairs, hammocks and… animations for children! The Song and Dance Ensemble KURPIE ZIELONE” from Bialystok and „Gamanina” – the ensemble from Belarus encouraged the youngest viewers to dancing. The participants could learn the steps and play different games – you can see everything in the photos. A group of people took part in workshops „Kurpiowskie paper cutouts and more”. The youngers could listen to an Aboriginal fairy tale and the olders were dancing in the rythm of cumbia (a Latin American music genre). In the meantime the artists presented their handicraft in the area of Folkojarmark.
The first Festival Concert started at 7 p.m. The compere was Mr. Jaroslaw Janik – a founder and a leader of the „Janicki” Band. „Kurpie Zielone” and „Gamanina” delighted the audience with their music and dance stories. We could see Kurpie wedding ceremony and hear gorgeous sound of the traditional dulcimer from Belarus. At the same time Borja Soto, (the only flamenco singer living in Poland) performed on the stage next to the Town Hall. Despite the drizzling rain the public has beed warmed up and charmed with passionate Spanish music. The vocalist was accompanied by Stanisław Jordanow (guitar) and Stanisław Zimniewicz (cajon).
Thank you for such a great day and see you tomorrow! We hope without the rain.
